“One of the best things about this is when we hade the double deep racking in this same area, we had about 180 pallet spots. With this racking, the Radioshuttle™ system alone, using the same footprint, holds about 900 pallets. Spatially it’s a no-brainer”, says Scott Delaney, Logistics Supervisor at Virox.
For Virox, the Radioshuttle™ system is a well-proven solution. They started with a predecessor to the RS 6.0, the RS 96, which was in use for 11 years. During those years, it moved 300 pallets per day, operating in shifts of 8–10 hours—over three million pallets during its lifetime. When it was time for a new investment, the RS 6.0 was the natural successor.
“If Virox didn’t go ahead and invested in the Radioshuttle™ system, we defintely not would have been able to deal with the volumes we dealt with trough Covid-19”, says Scott Delaney.
