Sustainability is embedded in everything we do, from the steel we select and the way we manufacture, to how Radioshuttle™ improves efficiency and safety in daily warehouse operations. Radioshuttle™ demonstrates how advanced engineering, responsible sourcing and long-term thinking create warehouse solutions that perform today and endure tomorrow.
Designed for long life and circular value
Long life cycles significantly reduce environmental impact. Radioshuttle™ is engineered for durability, serviceability and circularity.
The construction is robust and designed to deliver reliable performance for many years. Modules can be replaced and serviced, and technology can be upgraded when needed. Circular design practices are integrated throughout development to minimize waste and to keep resources in use for as long as possible.
Lower CO₂ emissions through smarter use of space
Efficient storage is one of the most effective ways to reduce operational emissions.
Radioshuttle™ increases storage density, allows for smaller warehouse footprints and reduces internal transport. This leads to lower energy consumption, reduced heating and cooling requirements, fewer forklift movements and improved safety in daily logistics.
Energy efficient production and responsible transport
Sustainability begins in our own operations. We work continually to reduce energy use and emissions across the entire value chain.
Our production facilities are powered by our own solar park together with district heating. We collaborate closely with logistics partners to secure efficient and climate friendly transport solutions.
We develop circular processes, reuse materials wherever possible, and design our products for long service life and future recyclability. We hold environmental certifications including EcoVadis and Environmental Product Declarations for painted and galvanized steel structures.
Reusing warehouse equipment
The racking system in Gislaved was thoroughly inspected, and the assessment showed that around 75 percent of the equipment was still in near‑new condition. This allowed us to reuse 150 of the total 200 tons of material. After dismantling the racking, we replaced damaged components primarily the front uprights on the pallet racks and carried out the necessary modifications.
The installation was then complemented with new racking and additional Radioshuttle™ machines to reach the required storage capacity. The initial setup provided 13,000 pallet positions, with the option to expand by a further 3,500 if needed.
Responsible materials
A significant part of a warehouse system’s climate footprint comes from steel.
Material choice is therefore one of our most important sustainability levers. We prioritize Swedish made steel along with recycled and reused materials and fossil free alternatives. Since spring 2024, all Radioshuttle™ chassis are produced using SSAB Zero™, a fossil carbon emission free steel made from recycled steel and fossil free energy. This provides high structural strength combined with a significantly lower climate footprint.
Our product design supports circular flows through components that can be maintained, repaired and upgraded. This extends product lifetime and reduces the need for new material.
Safe, ergonomic and predictable work environments
Sustainability is always about people. Radioshuttle™ improves workplace safety by limiting manual handling, reducing forklift traffic and minimizing the time employees spend in extreme temperatures.
This contributes to safer workflows, more ergonomic conditions, fewer collision risks and more predictable operations. We also maintain a safe and inclusive working environment in our own production and take responsibility throughout our supply chain.
Innovation for a sustainable future
Our innovation agenda integrates sustainability into every stage of development.
We invest in digitalisation, circular design principles, smart navigation, energy efficient drive systems, return and reuse processes and greener technologies that reduce lifetime emissions. Innovation drives both improved performance and reduced environmental impact.
This contributes to safer workflows, more ergonomic conditions, fewer collision risks and more predictable operations. We also maintain a safe and inclusive working environment in our own production and take responsibility throughout our supply chain.
People, Planet and Profit
Radioshuttle™ represents a new generation of sustainable high performance warehouse logistics. It delivers technical excellence combined with environmentally responsible materials. This promotes long term resource efficiency, enhances workplace safety and improves overall profitability.
A long-term commitment
As part of EAB, we aim to reduce total CO₂ emissions by at least 50 percent by 2035. Our sustainability goals are fully integrated into our business strategy to ensure long-term economic stability and responsible growth.
We work toward this goal through responsible sourcing, circular design, renewable energy, efficient production processes and transparent reporting. We operate according to clear policies and measurable objectives and are continuously assessed through EcoVadis with the ambition to reach the highest level.
Radioshuttle™ plays a central role in this journey by showing how engineering excellence and sustainability together create warehouse solutions that are ready for the future.
