As business grew, Ham Produce and Seafood needed to expand storage capacity in their cold storage facility. However, with no option to enlarge the building, they had to find a way to store more pallets within the same footprint. Years earlier, Servco Forklift and Industrial Equipment had set up their freezer with a lift designed for the narrowest possible aisles, but even that wasn’t enough to meet their new storage needs.

Why Radioshuttle™?

The Solution: Implementing Radioshuttle™ for High-Density Storage and Efficient Operations

Servco partnered with Raymond Corporation, a Toyota Industries company, to explore the best way to maximize space. The answer? Radioshuttle™ — a semi-automated high-density storage system. Radioshuttle™ allows pallets to be stored multiple positions deep, reducing the number of aisles required. Instead of three aisles dedicated to lift equipment, the new system reduced it to just one while maintaining efficient pallet movement. This upgrade was critical for Ham Produce’s cold storage warehouse, ensuring they could handle growing demand while keeping operations smooth.

The Result: 20% Increase in Storage Capacity Without Facility Expansion

By implementing Radioshuttle™, Ham Produce increased their cold storage capacity by 20% without expanding their facility. This project became Hawaii’s first semi-automated pallet storage system, setting a new standard for cold storage efficiency in the food and beverage industry.

“We chose Servco because of their great support and friendly service staff. They always have a solution no matter what our needs are.” – Jerome Liu, Ham Produce and Seafood

With warehouse space at a premium—especially in temperature controlled environments – Ham Produce found a cost-effective solution to grow their business without costly expansions.
Mahalo to Servco for their expertise and to Ham Produce for trusting Radioshuttle™ to optimize their high-density storage system for the food and beverage industry!
