Why Radioshuttle™?
A need for maximised storage space
“I’ve been with Red River for about 2 years,” says Roberto Fuentes, Operations Manager at Red River. “I came in here to help set up this new facility we have in Richmond, Virginia. We looked at traditional racking, pushback racking, drive-in racking, and then density racking systems. And we just found that given the investment that we had made in the building, that we could maximize the storage space and also make it easy to use and safe to use. And when you look at the different brands, the Radioshuttle one was the one that fit our needs the best.”
With their rapid growth, Red River sought a shuttle-racking system that could scale with them. They needed a system that maximized storage space while maintaining efficiency and safety. As their warehouse operations expanded, optimizing palletization and storage space became essential to keeping up with demand.
Expanding operations and maximizing storage space
As Red River Foods grew, their need for efficient storage solutions became more pressing. Their existing warehouse infrastructure could no longer accommodate the increasing volume of products they were handling. In particular, they required a system that could efficiently store products in a high-density manner while ensuring easy accessibility and safety. A solution that could meet the demands of their rapidly growing operations in the manufacturing industry was imperative. Optimizing storage space and improving palletization were key to reducing costs and boosting operational efficiency.
Implementing Radioshuttle™ for enhanced storage and efficiency
Red River evaluated various storage solutions, including traditional, pushback, and drive-in racking. After careful consideration, they chose Radioshuttle™ for its ability to optimize space, enhance efficiency, and streamline operations. Had they opted for traditional racking, Red River would have been limited to 700–900 pallet positions. However, with Radioshuttle™, they now accommodate over 3,000 pallet positions—tripling their storage space! This expansion allows them to keep more inventory in-house rather than relying on external warehouses.
Michael, lead supervisor at Red River, highlights the impact of the new system:
“In our business, 5–10 minutes is a big deal. Before we got the Radioshuttle™ system, it was taking us 30–35 minutes to load a truck. Now, with the system in place, we can load a truck in 15–20 minutes. A forklift driver can learn the system in just 15 minutes and, by the end of the day, can put a whole container away in less than 20 minutes. Compared to traditional or pushback racking, Radioshuttle™ keeps things faster and more streamlined.”
Improved efficiency and triple the storage space
Red River has dramatically improved storage space efficiency and operational speed with Radioshuttle™. By optimizing storage space and palletization in their warehouse, they have enhanced their ability to meet the growing demands of the manufacturing industry.
“From the additional space to how much faster it is, the investment has been worth it,” says Roberto. “We now know that we have a system that can accommodate our business in the best way possible.”
